Resister

ReSister began her DJ journey at private parties and low-pressure gigs, initially drawn to the deep, flowing sounds of slow house. Over time, her focus expanded to exploring the rich musical traditions of her geographic roots, blending ethnic and spiritual sounds into her sets. Her style fuses music from across cultures—Turkey, Egypt, Iran, and beyond—seamlessly mixing styles while carefully matching song keys to create a cohesive, immersive soundscape.

A signature element of her performance is the incorporation of live percussion, including hand drums, frame drums, agogo bells, cowbells, and shakers, adding an organic, dynamic layer to her DJ sets.

After moving to Cumberland, BC in 2013, Re#Sister became involved with Cumberland Village Works through festival organization, leading to gigs at the Waverley Hotel, including an opening set for a sold-out Delhi 2 Dublin concert. She has since become a resident DJ at 420 Dance Jams—a boutique dance experience held in forests and by the seaside—and continues to perform at various local events and parties.

ReSister's sound offers a multicultural journey through Eastern ritual traditions, rich Anatolian tunes, and deep house rhythms from around the world. Her sets are known for their unique energy, musical depth, and the vibrant connection she creates with her audience.
