DJ Lion

Dj Lion is a 10 year old named Levi, who has been attending music festivals since in the womb.

Raised listening to music like the early 2013-2014 Funk Hunters and all the The Pleasnrations Volumes by Neon Steve back in his nursery, it was no surprise Levi fell in love with electronic music.

In November 2022, Levi began exploring house music after his mom's friend lent him a controller, hoping it would provide him with a positive way to channel his energy. As many are aware, mental health challenges significantly impact a large number of individuals, often beginning in childhood.

Producer Aspen King moved in, and while she cared for Levi and his younger brother, she introduced Levi to a variety of tracks, including some of her original creations, while teaching him the basics. It was during this time that DJ Lion became so captivated that he began mixing every day, involving Aspen and his mom in sessions, where they would jam together for hours on end.

DJ Lion made his debut performance at his 9th Birthday Rave in early April 2023, held in his hometown of Campbell River. Lion played along side Aspen King, DylPrickle, Acid Santa & JoJo.

In June of that year, he was scheduled to perform a set for the Hidden Bass Society at the Auditorium Market Event in Nanaimo, B.C.

Lion was present at the Vancouver Island Music Festival in July, both the week prior and during the event, collaborating with the Ambiance Crew. He utilized this opportunity to network and promote his upcoming performance at Quadrapalooza on Quadra Island, where he is scheduled to play over the Labor Day weekend in September 2023.

Lion received a Music Bursary from Pinecase Mental Health, which greatly helped him acquire CDJ 2000s and a DJM 2000 mixer, allowing him to elevate his skills.

In 2024, he marked his 10th annual Birthday Rave in Campbell River and was sponsored by Pinecase Mental Health & Music to travel all the way to Millet, Alberta & perform at Decimate Metalfest.

Once summer hit, Lion made his way to Blackberry Jam on Denman Island, where he spent the entire weekend performing at a renegade stage. During Labor Day weekend, Lion was scheduled to play at Quadrapalooza at the Skatepark Stage on both Saturday and Sunday. As a highlight, his mentor Aspen King invited him on stage to perform some of her original songs while she headlined Saturday night.

Over the past year, Lion has delved into his mom's DNB while exploring various house sub-genres and even some dub.

Lion, with numerous projects underway, promises that he will take the stage this winter for upcoming events that will be revealed soon..

Finding solace in this local music scene, you should keep an eye on him; he has a bright future awaiting him!
