Dan Snakehead

Dan Snakehead is a 26-year veteran DJ, elite DMC turntablist, radio personality, and event producer whose career has been defined by precision performance, community leadership, and a relentless commitment to culture. Known for his technical mastery and commanding stage presence, Dan has become one of Canada’s in-demand DJs for festivals, corporate events, fundraisers, club nights, and private celebrations alike.

With more than two decades behind the decks, Dan has built a reputation as a DJ who can read any room — from high-capacity festival stages to intimate underground gatherings — and deliver an unforgettable musical journey. Promoters and event organizers consistently hire him not only for his skill, but for his professionalism, reliability, and ability to elevate the entire atmosphere of an event. His versatility spans Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Trance, House, Breaks, Speed Garage, Hip Hop, and beyond, blending high-energy technical mixing with deep musical curation tailored to each audience.

Dan’s competitive accolades further distinguish him as a premier booking choice. He has achieved global #1 honors on Mixcloud more than 200 times, holding the all-time record in Jump Up, Neurofunk, and Halftime categories — a rare accomplishment that reflects both consistency and worldwide audience appeal. As a DMC turntablist, his technical prowess brings a dynamic, performance-driven element to live events, making him equally suited for headline slots and specialty showcase bookings.

He is the founder of Nocturnal Emissions (N.E.W.D.S.), a groundbreaking Drum & Bass broadcast that became Canada’s #2 FM Drum & Bass radio show, second only to Prophecy FM. Through radio, live streaming, and curated event production, Dan has continuously built platforms that spotlight emerging talent — particularly artists from BIPOC and LGBQ2S+ communities.

As an event producer, Dan has worked behind the scenes as a key contributor to some of Canada’s most iconic gatherings, including Shambhala Music Festival, Valhalla Music Festival, Electric Love Music Festival, and most recently INIT Music Festival. Whether booked as a featured DJ or working in production and talent curation, he brings a deep understanding of event logistics, crowd dynamics, and cultural stewardship — qualities that make him a trusted partner for promoters and brands alike.

Beyond music, Dan’s work extends into restorative justice, consent culture advocacy, and social equity initiatives. His outspoken leadership in these areas once made him the target of a smear campaign intended to undermine his efforts; however, he has since cleared his name and continues to stand firmly in his integrity. He remains a vocal advocate for accountability, inclusion, and safer event spaces.

Recognized for his advocacy in First Nations communities, Dan has been honored with the title of ally by the Canadian Grand Chiefs for his contributions to Indigenous rights awareness. In 2007, he organized Vancouver’s first Children’s Rights protest to address systemic failures within the foster care system — a testament to his long-standing commitment to activism.

To describe Dan Snakehead as simply a DJ would be incomplete. He is a cultural architect, community advocate, and seasoned event professional whose presence behind the decks consistently transforms gatherings into powerful, memorable experiences. Whether hired for a major festival, charity fundraiser, corporate function, or underground showcase, Dan Snakehead delivers not just music — but impact.
