Blue Fusion Dance for Beginners

Fusion Blues Dance is a partner dance similar to swing dance but more focused on connection/conversation between partners inspired by Blues dance but not limited to that style.

No experience is necessary to take part. No partner is necessary to take part, the instructor would like to teach all participants how to lead and follow. During the paired portions of the class participants will switch partners frequently.

This workshop, designed to get people dancing together, will focus on the basics of connecting in a dance partnership (closed position, open position, close embrace, tension, listening, consent), some introductory movements (turns, styles of walking, flair, one safe dip and why dips are dangerous) as well as some foundational concepts to get you creating your own moves.
